Get Well Card

Two of my friends are scheduled to have surgery so I thought I would make get well cards for them. I made them both the same since they did not know one another, neither would know I made the same card for another person. Again, a simple clean card. And, again, I was determined to make it with what I have. Although I don't know the company that put out the stamps, I do know the band aide was a dollar stamp from one of the big box craft stores. I use this one quite a bit. The dots are on the stamp, I drew on the smiling faces. The "get well soon" stamp was unmounted so I'm not sure who put it out but this saying is very easy to find on a stamp. The papers all came from my scrap box. It feels good to use them. I stamped the band aide twice on each printed patterned paper. I cut out the full band aide with one and then the middle square on the other. The full band aide got glued down on the card and then the middle square got put on top with lift tape to give it a little dimension. A very easy and fast card to make. Hope you enjoyed it.

New Puppy Card

My niece got a new puppy recently and I decided to make a card for her. Again, I am challenging myself to use only what I have and not buy anything to make this card. I can't tell you what company put the dog and dog house stamp, I about it unmounted. They are two different stamps, I stamped the dog first, put a mask over him and then stamped the dog house so it looked like the dog house was behind the dog. The dog and dog house are colored with Copics. The panel with the dog on it is attached to the card with lift tape to give the card some dimension. I used "swiss dots" embossing folder on the panel behind the dog panel. The black and white thing that in just above the word "one" is a staple. I forgot I had this! Its a wide staple I got when I was working at Archiver's. When the pipe broke in our basement, I had to clean everything out of my stamp room in one evening. That was a couple of years ago and I'm still moving things back in. As I have said, I need to use what I have instead of going out and buying things. The black dots on the top are enamel dots, I like these and have a lot of these in different shapes and colors. The words, "welcome little one" is a sticker from a set of baby stickers, again using something I have had for years. If I was going to do anything different with this card, I would make this into an A6 card. It's and A2 and I think it needs to be a bit bigger. Again, I hope you enjoyed the card!

Graduation Card

It has been a while since I have been on my blog, I have been going through chemo and radiation and now I am back on chemo again. This is a good time for me to catch up on my blog so here is the card I made today. I have a graduation open house to go to in another couple of weeks and because I have so many cards I need in the month of June, I am getting a head start. The other thing I want to mention before I describe this card is that I have challenged myself to use only papers, stamps, and embellishments I already have, in other words make cards without buying anything or using up some of my scrap paper instead of full sheets. Okay, that being said, this is a card using black, white, and red paper. I did have to use a full sheet of black, I didn't have scraps big enough to make the base. What I wanted was a card to hold money. The card base measures 6 1/2 x 8 1/4 and scored at 3" and 6", very simple. The numbers, 2016, were cut out on my Cricut along with the graduation hat. The tassel on the had was colored in with a black pen. It's hard to see in this picture, the numbers were cut out of the white paper and then put on to the black paper with lift tape. There is a fold on the inside that with hold the money. It is an easy, clean card and can be made in an about an hour. If you don't own a Cricut, take sticker numbers or rub on numbers, it won't look that different. Hope you enjoyed it!
